Mon 19 October 2012

Could you develop activity tourism to boost your farm income?

Have you thought of using your farm business assets to diversify into another business and would you like help and advice to do this?

Glasu is running a Farm Diversification Scheme which can provide help, advice and financial support towards viable business ventures into non-agricultural activity and also for novel approaches to diversification including funding for market research, detailed feasibility and pilot studies to investigate new ideas.

Grant funding of up to 60%, to a maximum of £10,000 is available. Plus funding of up to 75% towards innovative project ideas.

To promote and support the scheme, a number of workshops are being held, kicking off with a series of events right across the county.

Current on-farm ventures that have been successful include unique high quality tourist accommodation, an eco friendly shower block, converting a barn in to a stable block for liveries, disabled luxury camping facilities and a firewood processor.
