Powys Connections provides advice and grant funding to micro businesses and social enterprises develop specialised ICT. The project includes:
- Providing every business enrolled on the project with an ICT Review. An advisor will work the enterprise to provide advice and support to help facilitate the development of more advanced ICT.
- Delegated grant for buying in specialist ICT support (from commercial providers)
- ICT based taster sessions tailored specifically towards the diverse needs of Powys enterprises. Awareness raising events will use case studies to demonstrate advantages of specialised ICT.
Project Applicants
Micro enterprises and social enterprises i.e. organisations up to 10 employees and turnover of less than £1.4M.
The project can not support organisations solely engaged in the following sectors: agriculture, forestry and tourism. If unsure of eligibility, please contact the Powys Connections team for advice.
Project Budget
Up to 75% grant funding (up to a maximum of £2,000) will be available for business to buy in the specialist advice, implementation support required (eligible expenditure would be specialised: advice, support, software, advanced website development etc.). To be eligible for the grant, businesses must have undertaken a review and have completed a grant application.
How to apply
- Initial enquiry and discussion between applicant and project staff;
- ICT Advisor will visit business and conduct ICT review;
- On receiving the ICT review business can choose to apply for grant funding and submit application;
- Preliminary assessment of application by project staff/manager;
- Proposal submitted to, and assessed by Powys steering group
- The project will take applications for support and grant funding on a rolling basis until November 2010
